Boosting immunity can start with CBD

About immunity

What is immunity? Why can improving it enhance physical fitness?
Immunity is the body’s own defense mechanism, which is the ability of the body to recognize and eliminate any foreign objects (viruses, bacteria, etc.) that invade, process aging, damage, death, and degeneration of its own cells, as well as recognize and process mutated cells and virus infected cells in the body. It is the physiological response of the body to recognize and eliminate “outsiders”.

Simply put, immunity is the protective barrier of the human body. When encountering foreign species, it will appear immediately and kill them!

Meanwhile, modern medical science has found that immunity is a factor closely related to aging, and weakened immune function is one of the most important causes of aging. That’s why the older you get, the lower your immune system becomes. Generally, the immune function of the human body begins to decline around the age of 30, and this change occurs quietly, slowly, and continuously.

Just like everyone will age, the immune general will also age, and at this time, all we can do is delay its aging, inject new energy into it, and protect our bodies from the harm of foreign species!

The problems caused by weakened immunity

A body with weakened immunity is prone to cancer, and in this case, it is highly susceptible to infections such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc. Therefore, the most direct manifestation of weakened immunity is the susceptibility to illness or the fact that it takes a long time to recover from each illness, and often recurs. Over time, this can lead to poor physical and intellectual development, and can also easily trigger major diseases.

When the human immune system is dysfunctional or the immune system is not functioning properly, the following problems will recur: recurrent colds, recurrent tonsillitis, recurrent asthma, recurrent bronchitis, recurrent pneumonia, recurrent diarrhea, frequent fatigue, and easy infection of wounds, etc. This may explain a problem: eating an ordinary dish at a restaurant outside while others are unharmed, while you vomit and diarrhea.

Methods to enhance immunity

  1. Nutritional balance
  2. Drink more water, exercise more, and rest more
Drink plenty of water: Adults must consume approximately 2000-2500 milliliters of water per day.
Exercise more: Do at least thirty minutes of aerobic exercise every day.
Rest more: Ensure a long sleep period.
  3. Eat less sweets, fats, alcohol, and quit smoking
  4. Cultivate multiple interests, maintain energy and mental health.

Finally, using marijuana ( CBD ) is also one of the ways to improve immunity.

Medical marijuana is often used clinically to treat cancer phenomena such as pain, nausea and vomiting, and these adverse reactions are also common in the late stage of AIDS. In November 2018, researchers at Mount Sinai Medical College in New York, the United States, found that cannabis compounds can activate receptors on human immune cells, prompting immune cells to directly suppress a human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in the late stage of AIDS. This new research was published online in PLoS Synthesis.

This study for the first time revealed that cannabis receptors on immune cells, known as cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2, can affect the transmission of HIV virus.

In addition, as early as September 2017, a research paper titled “Endogenous cannabinoids play a CB1 receptor mediated neuroprotective role in neuronal injury models” was published in the Journal of Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience, revealing the positive significance of medical marijuana in maintaining the immune system.

As we all know, AIDS (HIV) is a virus that can attack the human immune system. It targets the most important CD4+T lymphocytes in the human immune system as the main target, extensively damaging these cells and causing cellular immune dysfunction in the human body. The positive impact of medical marijuana on HIV may be equivalent to indicating its positive impact on the immune system.

In fact, the human body mainly uses two immune mechanisms (cell-mediated immunity and antibody mediated immunity) to prevent and combat diseases.

In 2008, a study by the National Institutes of Health in the United States showed that when CBD is associated with the endogenous cannabinoid system receptor CB1 When exposed to CB2, it activates T cells in the human immune system, thereby enhancing the body’s immune system and helping the body fight against diseases.

Meanwhile, with the advancement of technology and the deepening of more medical research, many research results have also shown that marijuana has made good breakthroughs and advances in the treatment of diseases caused by the immune system, such as arthritis, asthma, skin inflammation, inflammatory colitis, elderly dementia, and so on.

Arthritis: In 2003, researchers from the University of South Carolina in the United States found in a study on rats with simulated arthritis symptoms that CBD can effectively alleviate inflammation and repair the patient’s immune system and nervous tissue.
Asthma: A 1973 study showed that marijuana has a significant effect on causing bronchiectasis, and marijuana causes faster dilation and longer lasting effects.
Alzheimer’s disease: The British Journal of Pharmacology has shown that certain cannabinoids can protect neurons from the harmful effects of beta amyloid protein (A β). Cannabinoids may provide multiple benefits for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease: providing neuroprotection, reducing neuroinflammation, and enhancing the brain’s intrinsic repair mechanisms by increasing neurotrophic factors.

Meanwhile, current research has also shown that cannabinoids can effectively reduce the activity of the immune system in cases of viral infection, which can minimize inflammation and prevent the occurrence of complications. When a virus is discovered, it triggers a response from the immune system and an increase in inflammation, which can actually kill healthy cells in the body and thus have significant health effects. The emergence of marijuana has precisely changed this situation and erected a barrier for human health.
